So, yesterday the Doctor's changed Alyssa's formula because she continues to dump her fats. So, we are trying a different formula that already has the fats broken down and her bowel won't have to do the work. Hopefully this works and she starts absorbing fats.
Her poop is normal!!! This is the first time ever. This is such exciting news. (The little things.) NJ and I have kept asking the nurses what "normal" baby poop looks like, and now we know! This makes it look like that her bowel is catching on and figuring out what it needs to do. This a step in the right direction.
Alyssa's feeding goal was increased yesterday too, so unfortunately that means that we will be here a few days longer, since we are going up one a day. But, if we can get her bowel working consistently and don't have to start her feeds over, that is fine by me.
I put Alyssa on her tummy for the first time yesterday and she seemed to like it. We starting putting socks on her hands because she has pulled out her feeding time 3 times in the past 5 days. She is still too small for the gloves I bought her. They just fall off.
Take care,
Kim, NJ and Alyssa
