11 Pounds!!

I went to the doctor again on Friday and my surgeon is happy with how I am growing. I am 11 pounds now. He is allowing mommy and daddy to give me 35cc's in my bottle. Thank goodness, I was getting very angry and screaming when my bottle was empty. Hopefully this will make me feel fuller. I am also at 21cc's per hour through my feeding tube. That puts me at 92% of my feeding goal. They are not decreasing the amount of TPN I get at this point until after I reach goal. The plan is to increase 1 cc every week. I know by the time I reach my goal, it will have increased because I continue to gain week. . . . they are never happy.

I had some special visitors this weekend. Daddy's Uncle Bart came and visited from Idaho. I worked my charm and got another fan of my smile. I saw my Great Grandma Margaret and Grandpa Marty too.

I celebrated my first Valentine's Day. Mommy and Daddy bought me a Jumperoo. I was having fun. I can't quite touch the ground, but I enjoy playing with the toys and watching the lights. I also was standing up on the couch by myself. I really liked being able to look around on my own.

Mommy was excited because she put me down for my first official nap. I guess it was the first time she put me down when I was awake and I feel asleep on my own. It didn't last long though, I only stayed asleep for about 20 minutes.

I got my immuniztons on Wednesday and I got kind of sick from them. I had a temperature a few days (100 on Friday) and was fussy. I am feeling better now though.

I wanted to wish all my Family and Friends a Happy Valentine's Day. I love you all. Thank you for the continued support and prayers. I feel so loved. Mommy and Daddy appreciate all the e-mails, phone calls and blog comments.

10 lbs 15 ounces

Yesterday I had a check up at Children's and I now weight 10 lbs 15 ounces. The dietitian was very excited about my continued weight gain and growth. They have made an adjustment to my TPN infusion time. I will only be hooked up to the TPN for 12 hours instead of 16. Which makes things easier for Mommy and Daddy. I don't like having the extra wires either. I love being home. There is so much more to do, play with and see. I am getting stronger and enjoy watching TV. Mommy and Daddy said that I shouldn't get use to it though. . . . . I am starting to sit up without support and I am pushing myself up and wanting to crawl. (You can see me hooked up to my TPN in the picture I am on my belly. It is the white/clear cord.)

We're Home

We were able to come home late last night. I was able to do Alyssa's dressing change and hook up her TPN last night with no issues. Other then I am REALLY SLOW!!! But, it will take time and I will get quicker. I just completed my first at home procedure. I disconnected her from the TPN and flushed the line. So she is back to one cord, her feeding tube. It is so nice to be home, but we have lots of work ahead of us. It is going to take a while to get organized and get a system down. There are quite a few medical supplies and our plan is to create individual bags for each procedure, so we are not digging through the boxes every time. This is going to be a stressful phase in our adventure. But, it is better to be really careful and safe then to end up with a line infection.

Count Down

Alyssa's surgery went well on Friday. The Hickman line was placed and NJ and I have started training on how to care for Alyssa's line. I have practiced dressing changes and learned how to prepare her TPN tubing and machine. This is going to be a very stressful next few months. It is necessary to be extra careful and keep everything sterile in the multi step processes. We have one more class and then the test of an actual dressing change and TPN set up. It is looking like we can go home on Tuesday if we pass.
