8.24.12 Children's 4 year Check Up

I had my 4 year old check up at Children's today.  I had to give blood, which is very scary!  I cried lots, but was very brave.  Mommy and Daddy  were very proud of me.

Next, we had appointments with the Nutritionist and then my surgeon.  I weigh 41.5 (89%)  pounds and am 41 inches tall (89%).  They are very happy with my growth!!  They said Mommy and Daddy are doing something right.  My BMI is high, but they think that it is attributed to my low tone (which is why I am going to physical therapy).  They aren't overly concerned, because I look very slender and the nutritionist said she had no idea where I would be storing the fat.

Dr. Sawin decided that since I continue to be gassy and have smelly stools, he wanted to take a couple x-rays to get an idea of what my bowels look like.  I was not thrilled to have them take pictures of my belly.  I cried again, but after it was done, said "That wasn't so bad."  The doctor was really surprised with how well my bowels look. They were not distended like we all thought they would be.  He actually was shocked to see that it looked like I could be constipated.  Which is really shocking with a short gut kid!!!  So we had a wonderful appointment.  We don't have to go back for a year unless something happens!!

Dr. Sawin kept saying how adorable I am.  I kept him entertained by telling him about my birthday cake and introducing him to Stitch. I was a chatter box the entire appointment.  I kept telling them that "I am growing big!"

My reward for being such a brave and good girl was to go to McDonald's.  I got a Chocolate Dipped ice cream cone.  It was Yummy!

8.18.12 Happy Early 4th Birthday

We had my birthday party early this year.  Mommy and Daddy didn't want anyone interrupting my birthday celebration.

I told Mommy and Daddy months ago that I wanted a "Stitch" cake.  I was so excited about having Mommy and Daddy make me a Stitch cake.  (Although Mommy had no idea how to make one and decided that it was the year to buy a cake. But where to get it?? Fortunately Fred Meyer had it in their cake book, so she was happy.  However, when we went to order it, they no longer had it and I was REALLY UPSET!!!! So we went into emergency mode and had to come up with a Plan B.  Fortunately the baker said if Mommy brought in a picture they could scan it and put it on the cake.  Relief!!!!)  Since the movie Lilo & Stitch is based in Hawaii, Mommy decided to have a Luau party.  So we had Flamingos, Pineapples, Parrots, Palm Trees, Leis and other decorations.  I really loved the Flamingo.
I woke up at 7 am and immediately asked Mommy and Daddy when my friends were coming over.  I repeatedly asked them when they were coming and even sat by the front door and waited for them to arrive.  Unfortunately, Mommy said that they would not be arriving for at least 3 hours.  Mommy knew it was going to be a long day!!

I was so excited when Mommy brought home my Stitch cake. It turned out so good. I showed every single person as soon they came in, my Stitch cake!!

We handed out leis to everyone and my friends and I wore hula skirts. We had fun dancing, playing games, laughing and playing in my room. I had SO MUCH FUN!!
The games we played were fishing (we won Lilo & Stitch Coloring pages, crayons and crazy straws). Next, we played musical chairs (which was my special request). This game didn't go over too well (I don't think the girls really understood the game) we enjoyed walking around the chairs listening to the music. Finally, we did a pinata and got lots of candy and toys!

Next, it was time for presents and my 4 favorite gifts were a Stitch stuffed animal, Nemo and Marlin ( I had Nemo and Marlin on my birthday wish list) and the Lilo & Stitch Movie. I really enjoyed everything. Finally. it was time to sing Happy Birthday and eat my Stitch cake. It was delicious! I chose chocolate cake with chocolate filling. We also had ice cream.

Alyssa and her friends had such a good time. They were so excited that none of them ate any lunch. All they ate was the cake and ice cream. I tell everyone about my birthday party, Stitch cake and my new stuffed animals. I can't wait for next year!

8.14.12 Big Girl Bike

I really enjoying riding my bike and this weekend I got the confidence to ride my bike to the corner and back without Mommy and Daddy's help. Parts of the ride are with a slight incline so it takes some work to peddle.  I told my mommy I didn't want her touching the bike.  That scared mommy because the start has a slight decline and I pick up some speed.  The first time, I did fine, but the second time, I got a little scared and ended up falling off my bike.  I was smart and feel into the grass, so I only got a small scrape on my foot.  I cried, but got back on my bike and rode it home.

The second video is shows how hard she is having to peddle up the slight incline.

7.30.12 Baby Brother's Room

Mommy finished putting together Baby Brother's Bedroom.  It looks good.  We have been playing Baby.  I put one of my baby dolls in the crib and pretend he is crying.  We go in and check on him, rock him, feed him bottles and change his diaper.  I think I am going to like having him around.

7.26.12 Getting Dressed

Mommy has been really encouraging me to do things on my own.  She says she is going to need my help when my baby brother comes and I will need to do some things on my own.  Getting dressed I guess is one of them.  She told me to put on my underwear and I did.

I guess it wasn't exactly how she wanted it.. . . . .

Summer Movies

The local theater has been having $1 movies on Tuesdays and Wednesdays during the summer.  Mommy has taken me for the past 3 weeks.  We have gone to see Puss In Boots, Rango and Rio.  I really enjoying going to the movie theater.  Mommy brings me popcorn (since the movie theaters is too fatty), juice and other snacks.

When we wen to see Puss In Boots, my friends Alyssa and Knox and their mommy came too.  It was Knox's first movie.  It was a lot of fun!

Summer Fun With The Neighbors

I really enjoy playing with the neighbor girls, Hayden and Zoe.  We like throwing water balloons, swimming and riding bikes.  Mommy says they have been really good at encouraging me to do the same things as them and are helping build my confidence. We are constantly seeing improvement and are so happy to have some NICE older girls in the neighborhood play with her and teach her so much!!

7.18.12 New Bed, New Room

Grandpa Gary finished my bed!! I initially didn't want anything to do with it. But today, Mommy washed the sheets, bought some new pillows and I helped make my bed.  I was excited to try it out.  We played in my new room to help me get use to being in there. We read bed time stories in my new room and Mommy snuggled with me as I feel asleep in my new bed.

I picked out my bedding  of Lady Bugs and Night Light. I really like my Night Light.  I have pink drapes and a really neat Pink Lamp.  My room is really coming together.  It is 100% complete is really coming together nicely.  Mommy still has to decorate the walls and finish moving in my clothes and toys.  But we are well on our way for my baby brother's arrival.  I am excited for my Mommy's belly to get small so that she can start carrying me around again. . . . .

7.14.12 Baby Shower

Mommy had a baby shower for my baby brother.  Daddy and I went swimming during the party.  We came home half way through and I was able to help with some of the presents and EAT Cake.  It was nice because I received a couple gifts too.  When it was time for cake, I wanted to sing Happy Birthday!  I really enjoyed the frosting.
