3 New Teeth

Over the last week, I have gotten 3 new teeth in. Mommy said that explains all the drool. She thinks I have one more coming in, because my shirt continues to get soaked.

Some of the other things that I have been up to are I am really good at waving bye bye, I love taking off my socks. I try to put them back on. (IE, just setting it on my foot). I take a few steps in between people without assistance. I am really good at walking around furniture. I have figured out how to get on my tip toes to reach up and get to some of the "good stuff". I pulled down grandma's purse the other day. . . . I have started to act shy. I am not willing to go to just anyone anymore. I am most shy around my Uncle Dave and strangers. I just stare at him and then when he looks back I lay down on the floor and put my head down. I don't think he can see me when I do this. I LOVE playing Peek-A-Boo. I put my hand in front of my face and it is so funny that Mommy and Daddy can't see me. They say I am such a good hider.

Merry Christmas

I had a wonderful Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

On Christmas Eve I put on my new Christmas PJ's and snuggled in with Mommy and Daddy in front of the Christmas Tree. Mommy read "The Night Before Christmas" and Daddy read "The Polar Express". I got to hold and ring the bell while Daddy read his story. I really liked ringing the bell. My favorite thing was pulling the presents out of Santa's Bag in "The Night Before Christmas" Book. I was really excited for Christmas and didn't want to go to sleep. Daddy finally took me upstairs and made me go to bed.

On Christmas morning we opened presents. I had so much fun pulling out all the goodies from my stocking (and mommy's) and opening all my presents. Since I was doing such a good job, I got to open everyone eles's presents too. The only thing that I didn't understand is once I opened a gift why I had to put it aside and open another. I wanted to immediately play with everything I opened. . . . . .We had a wonderful dinner of Prime Rib that Daddy and Uncle Dave made. I helped Mommy make the Twice Baked Potatoes. We received rave reviews.

I received lots of really neat gifts from near and far. I sure do have lots of friends. Thank you to everyone that thought of me for Christmas. A couple of my favorite gifts were my monkey backpack, books, telephone and my Little People Playschool.

I hope everyone had a wonderful, safe, and restful Christmas. It has been a crazy year and we look forward to an uneventful 2010.

December

Okay, I know, I know. I have been a terrible blogger. I have been extremely self absorbed with my knee surgery and recovery that I have not allowed Alyssa to make any updates. Enough of that, here is Alyssa.

Thank you mommy. . . .

So I continue to refuse to walk on my own. I don't want mommy to feel bad that I am walking before her. So, I have been walking on my knees. I am getting really good at using sign language to say that I want "more" or that I want to "eat". I am getting on a better sleeping schedule. Probably because I am always so busy entertaining grandma, grandpa and mommy and am going to "work" . My jobs are to get the mail with grandpa since mommy can't do it right now, I shred paper and help grandma in the kitchen. (Grandma says that I seem to get in the way more then actually help.)

I have learned who Santa Claus is. I get a huge smile on my face whenever mommy and daddy mention him. I am in training for Christmas. Grandpa and Mommy have been wrapping up books, food etc and showing me how to open them so can open my own presents from Santa on Christmas Day. Daddy took me to meet Santa. I didn't like him very much. He was pretty scary. I started crying. Daddy had the lady take my picture a few times with Santa and was able to get one with me not crying, but I wasn't smiling.

I have been off my belly medicine for about a month and a half and haven't had any diarrhea. Mommy and Daddy are very excited. I just had my 15 month check up and I weigh 23.4 pounds and am 32 1/4 inches tall. I am in the 90th percentile in height and 50th for weight. Mommy and Daddy are so excited, what a difference from a year ago.

I hope everyone has a Happy and Safe Christmas. Mommy says she is going to try and let me update about what Santa Brings me.

Update

Well I have been very busy the past few weeks. I am starting to talk a lot more, I love playing peek-a-boo, dancing, going in circles, reading, and eating. I am getting really good at walking with my walker, I can get up by myself now. I am also talking on the phone now (holding my play phone up to my ear). I love pointing out everything that catches my eye. I have been upgraded to my big girl car seat. I like facing forward and seeing were we are going versus where we have been. I have been conditioning my pitching arm. I have gotten really good at throwing my blocks down the stairs into the kitchen. I still enjoy playing with my Halloween toys. I hide them in my toys (I love putting things in boxes/cracks/holes etc. and then pulling them out) So, now it is a game for Mommy and Daddy to find it all. Mommy is walking kind of funny right now. She is walking with these funny silver things called crutches. She has to have surgery next week to make her knee all better so she can play with me. I hope everyone is doing well and enjoys Thanksgiving. I have so much to be thankful. I love you all.

Halloween

I had a blast doing this thing that mommy and daddy called Trick or Treating. I was able to get dressed up in a fuzzy warm Monkey outfit, go outside at night, see lots of people and go up to different house and get stuff. I then had a great time playing with all the stuff I got from the houses. Mommy said her favorite is something called a "Milky Way" and daddy likes something called a "Snickers"???? Not sure what they are talking about.I enjoy pulling my "toys" out of the bag and then putting them back in. I am also really good at sharing with Mommy and Daddy too. They give my toys right back though. We carved our pumpkins too. Mommy and Daddy each carved one and then Mommy wanted me to decorate mine. She got out the washable non toxic markers for me to color my pumpkin. She said I got more of it on me then on the pumpkin though. I only got to work on my pumpkin for about a minute. Mommy said it didn't work. Not sure what that means.

I also recently started swimming lessons. It is okay. The water is pretty cold, by the end of class my lips are blue and it takes about an hour or so for them to return to pink. We sing lots of songs which I love dancing too. I am not to sure about the whole thing, but I like hanging out with Mommy and Daddy. They are taking turns going with me in the pool.

Pumpkin Patch

Mommy, Daddy and I went to the Pumpkin Patch this weekend and got our Halloween pumpkins. I got to ride in the Wheel barrow and picked out my own pumpkin. I had a really good time. All we have to do now is buy candy and carve our pumpkins. I got my costume weeks ago and have already worn it a few times. I love it!!

I Have Been Wearing Mommy and Daddy Out

I have been busy this past month. I went to the doctor and I am 30.5 inches tall (95th percentile and weigh 21.3 ounces (as of last week, 40th percentile). My surgeon is really happy with how well I am doing. I go to a new specialist in two weeks to find out why I am still having issues with Bacterial Overgrowth, which gives me diarrhea. My upper GI test showed that there was no anatomical reasons for me having the issue. I have had ear infections for a over a month. Mommy and Daddy think that my belly medicine may be part of the reason I can't get over the ear infections. Here are some of the things that I have been up to. I started dancing, I have expanded my menu (I feed myself and have now had hot dog, taco meat, pancakes, waffles, I LOVE Peaches, Macaroni and Cheese, Peas, Graham Cracker, Cheese) I am working on drinking from a sippy cup. I wore my first tutu, I love to walk (but I have to hold onto BOTH of mommy and daddy's fingers) mommy and daddy are trying to get me to walk with my push toy, I helped daddy put together my pony, I play hide and seek by myself, I love playing chase, I know how to identify monkeys, Elmo, Turtles, Mommy, Daddy, I can pull myself up. I still laugh and smile all the time. PHEW, I sure have been busy. . . . .hopefully Mommy won't take so long to update the blog. Bye for now. Love Alyssa

Birthday Party

I had my 1st Birthday Party and I had a really good time. I had all my grandparents friends and family visit. We had a BBQ with cake, ice cream and presents. I really liked my cake that mommy made for me, but I didn't get any ice cream. :0( It took me a few minutes to understand what to do with all those boxes, but I started to get the hang of ripping open the presents.

First Word

Today Alyssa had her Upper GI Test. 6 1/2 long hours later we finally finished. It was not a fun experience trying to get her to drink the Barium needed to conduct the test and deal with a mean doctor. Who was irritated that a 11 month old would not sit still and was fighting the Barium. After he started getting snippy with me about her not drinking it, I got snippy right back and he started to be nicer. Come on. . . .what do you expect from an almost 1 year old.

Well, her first word was uttered. . . . . . . . and it was da da. . . . . . NJ is very excited! She hasn't associated it with him but it will be a matter of days with how excited NJ is. Our little girl is growing up so fast. Next thing we now, she is going to be talking words non stop.

Vacation

We went on vacation to meet Daddy's family in Idaho and Montana. I met lots of Uncles, Aunts, Second Cousins and my Great Grandpa. I saw lots of animals. . .dogs, cats, horses, pigs, cows and donkeys. My favorite was the Hound Dog, Chip. I walked on the beach and waded in the water and went on a swing. I finally started feeding myself after watching all the big kids do it.I had a lot of fun and can't wait to do it again.

Oops

Mommy, Daddy and I went on vacation last week to visit Daddy's family in Idaho and Montana. I was really good for them while we were in the car. But, my belly hasn't been feeling too good and I had quite a few accidents. Daddy said that I pooped up to 6 times a few days and they were diarrhea. So, we cut our trip short and headed home. Mommy and Daddy drove at night because I don't seem to poop at night. Well I threw them a curve ball and decided to poop 3 times on the way home. When we got home, mommy called my surgeon and I am back on an antibiotic and have an Upper GI test scheduled for Thursday. I am also suppose to see a GI specialist, but am not able to get in until mid October. I was weighed at the pediatrician and I lost some weight. I now weight 18 pounds 12 ounces and am 29 1/2 inches tall. Mommy said I don't look like a baby anymore. :0( We will try and find out what is going on in my bowel. I will post pictures from my fun vacation later. . . . .
