So, we are just coming off another long weekend. Alyssa was taken off her feeds again this weekend because she was stooling a lot and her electrolytes were off. The only feed she was able to get was 5 minutes of nursing 3 times a day. Not nearly enough and only a little bit to take off the edge. So, after a long and sleepless Sunday night, we are restarting the feeds at 3 cc's an hour through the feeding tube plus continuing the nursing 3 times a day for 5 minutes. I am very thankful that despite being on the bottle and feeding tube she still was able to latch on and breastfeed. I had prepared myself that she would not be able to nurse since she had been on the bottle for so long. We first started nursing on Tuesday, when she turned 5 weeks old.
Let's hope that the 3rd time is the charm!!
