Alyssa was born September 2, 2008 with a bowel obstruction. Surgery was performed at Children's Hospital in Seattle, WA 8 hours after birth. She had a jejunal blockage that left her with 51cm of bowel. The portion of bowel beyond the obsturuction had never been used and was very small. She was diagnosed with Short Gut Syndrome. Zachary Edward joined our family September7, 2012. He was born with a condition called PHPV. He is blind in his left eye. We are blessed with two amazing kids!

It is great to see Alyssa venturing out of her bed a bit and enjoying bright colorful toys and different positions. Go Alyssa Go!
Some hairy monster got a hold of her in picture #3. Monster,s going to get ya uh uh uh. She looks scared.
She gets more precious everyday. I really like picture #3, it looks like she is saying please daddy don't choke me!!!
Alyssa, I didn't think it was possible for you to get any cuter but you are getting cuter every new picture I see. I love seeing you in the bright colors and with your fun toys. By the way, from the looks of those feet, I'd say that your mommy will end up being the short one in your family. Keep getting better and you'll be home soon. I'm sending you prayers, hugs, & kisses.
