1 Step Forward 3 Steps Back

So, just when we think we are making progress we have a few set backs.

Good News. . .
- Alyssa is out of the Isolete
- Off of the TPN (IV Nutrients)
- PICC Line Removed (Woo Hoo no wires except the heart & Respirator Monitors)
- Kidney Reflucx Test Came Back Negative

Bad News. . .
- Alyssa is pooping excessively- i.e. she is dumping her nutrients & not absorbing fats
- She was taken off of Breat Milk because it has a lot of fats and put on a special perscription strength formula
- Her temperature is dropping which could signal a sign of an infection- & could put her back in the isolete if she can not regulate her temperature.
- She hasn't been increasing her feeds because of the excessive poop
- She is losing weight because she is not receiving enough nutrients.

Dosen't look like we are going to be getting out of here any time soon. NJ and I are having a rough time and being at the hospital is really starting to get to me. I really want to go home with Alyssa. I want her to get better and have her bowel function normally.

Take care,
Kim, Alyssa and NJ
