Alyssa hasn't been wanting to take naps. So we are enforcing quiet time in her bedroom. Despite fighting the urge to go to sleep. She just can't win. When things get really quiet we always check on her and this is sometimes what we find. Adorable.

Alyssa was born September 2, 2008 with a bowel obstruction. Surgery was performed at Children's Hospital in Seattle, WA 8 hours after birth. She had a jejunal blockage that left her with 51cm of bowel. The portion of bowel beyond the obsturuction had never been used and was very small. She was diagnosed with Short Gut Syndrome. Zachary Edward joined our family September7, 2012. He was born with a condition called PHPV. He is blind in his left eye. We are blessed with two amazing kids!

It's just like Alyssa even though she is trying to sleep she is trying to read one more page in her book. Looks like mommy when she was studying while in college.
